G-Recorder is a Skype plugin that makes it easy to record Skype calls and chats. They are both automatically sent to your Gmail account and labeled by type (Skype Calls, Skype Chats) for easy searching, viewing or listening.
For communication with Gmail a standard and highly secure protocol is used (Secure IMAP, port 993).
G-Recorder offers the Trial License with usage limited to 14 days and the Flat Fee License for one Skype ID.
The Flat Fee License allows you to use the full G-Recorder functionality on a single Skype ID for life. The license is portable with the Skype ID. This license can be used on up to 10 PCs under the same Skype ID.
The maximum length of call recording which can be stored in Gmail is 20 MB. Actual call duration depends on a chosen "Call quality/Max duration" option in the Settings dialog: “
But even when call recording length exceeds Gmail limits, recording will be continued until the call ends, so that the recorded call will be stored in a local folder on your PC (accessible from G-Recorder tray icon menu).
Sure, just open the Settings dialog (through G-Recorder tray icon menu), uncheck the "Enable call recording notification" option and click Finish.
Yes, all calls will be recorded and saved. In that case the G-Recorder tray icon will change its state to “Recording” and after that will return to a previous state.
The situation can happen when Gmail port (Secure IMAP, port 993) is disabled either by local PC firewall or network administrator.
The port accessibility can be checked by running the following command line (through Windows Start/Run… menu):
If the port is open, you should see an empty black console with a blinking cursor. In case the port is blocked, there will be some message.
If you detected that the port was blocked, we would recommend you to address to your network administrator for help.
